Soccer Game Preview: Stockbridge vs. Greenhills

The Stockbridge Panthers will head out to take on the Greenhills Gryphons at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Stockbridge has given up an average of 4 goals per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Monday just wasn't the day for Stockbridge's offense. They lost 6-0 to Dansville on Monday. Stockbridge haven't had much luck with Dansville recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Greenhills had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 goals) and they went ahead and made it seven on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Dreadnaughts a 2-0 shutout. Given Greenhills' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Dexter are ranked 181st) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Greenhills' victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 28 goals over those seven contests. As for Stockbridge, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.
