Basketball Recap: Jayla Geter Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Averill Park

Shaker hadn't done well against Averill Park recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Shaker Bison were the clear victor by a 65-44 margin over the Averill Park Warriors. The score was close at the half, but the Bison pulled away in the second half with 33 points.

Shaker's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jayla Geter, who went 8 for 14 on her way to 18 points and six assists. That's the most points Geter has posted since back in December of 2023. Giada Lanni was another key player, going 5 of 12 on her way to 13 points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Shaker now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Averill Park, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-1.

Shaker will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Guilderland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Averill Park, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
