Basketball Game Preview: Coleman Wildcats vs. Caney Cougars

Coleman is 1-9 against Caney since November of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Coleman Wildcats challenge the Caney Cougars at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Coleman will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up 14 points on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Calvin on Friday. Coleman put the hurt on Calvin with a sharp 56-34 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Wildcats' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Caney can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They came out on top against Bennington by a score of 40-30.

The victory got Coleman back to even at 8-8. As for Caney, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10.

Coleman didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Caney when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 37-33 victory. Will Coleman repeat their success, or does Caney have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
