If Morley Stanwood was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Ravenna last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mohawks fell just short of the Kent City Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Mohawks' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Madeline Kozuch paced Morley Stanwood's offense, picking up 20 kills. Kozuch got some help from Aivree Christensen and her 44 assists. Kozuch also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Alexis Martin, racking up three apiece.

Morley Stanwood's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 15-9. As for Kent City, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-5-1.

Morley Stanwood and Kent City should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Mohawks (ranked 165th) will meet Central Montcalm (ranked 460th) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
