Softball Recap: East Union Victorious

East Union lost to Cosumnes Oaks back in February of 2018, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Lancers came out on top against the Wolfpack by a score of 5-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lancers.

Mikayla Simpson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, Savanna Lopez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Caliyah Lopez was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases and three runs.

East Union's record is now 11-12. As for Cosumnes Oaks, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

East Union didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 20-1 win against Lincoln on the 25th. As for Cosumnes Oaks, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-8 loss against Argonaut on the 25th.
