Basketball Recap: Mineral Wells Comes Up Short

Mineral Wells suffered their biggest loss since January 30th on Friday. They took a blow against the Fredericksburg Billies, falling 56-27. The game marked the Rams' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Mineral Wells lost, don't look at Kahlea Samples. Despite the final result, she posted 14 points and three steals. Samples is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.

Mineral Wells has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season. As for Fredericksburg, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6.

Mineral Wells wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 50-42 victory against Lampasas on the 13th. Fredericksburg and Burnet will compete for holiday cheer at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
