Volleyball Recap: Illinois Math & Science Academy Comes Up Short

Illinois Math & Science Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Somonauk Bobcats. If the Titans were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Bobcats when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Illinois Math & Science Academy was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-19.

Illinois Math & Science Academy's loss dropped their record down to 12-16-1. As for Somonauk, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-6.

Illinois Math & Science Academy and Somonauk will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Titans see the court they'll take on Joliet Central at 5:30 p.m. on the 20th. As for Somonauk, their break will end when they face Hinckley-Big Rock at 6:30 p.m. on the 14th.
