Basketball Game Preview: North Mustangs vs. Metro Tech Knights

The North Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Metro Tech Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

North is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since December 13, 2024 on Friday. They were beaten by Central 70-42. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 138th, while the Bobcats are ranked 45th).

Meanwhile, Metro Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt an 83-20 loss at the hands of Carl Hayden Community.

Metro Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 1-20. As for North, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-8.

Everything came up roses for North against Metro Tech in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 79-46 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for North since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
