Football Recap: Springville's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Springville hadn't done well against Timpview recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Red Devils didn't even let the Thunderbirds on the board, marking the Red Devils' second-straight 28-0 shutout. Considering the Red Devils have won three matchups by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Springville was led to victory by Treyton Harris and Tua Naufahu. Harris rushed for 102 yards and one touchdown, while Naufahu rushed for 52 yards and a pair of TDs. The dominant performance also gave Naufahu a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Sioasi Toki got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win was the fourth in a row for Springville, bringing their record up to 7-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 5.8 points on average over those games. As for Timpview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Springville will square off against Spanish Fork at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Timpview, they will take on Pleasant Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Thunderbirds will be up against the Vikings' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
