Volleyball Recap: McKinley Bulldogs vs. St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish
McKinley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish, falling 3-0. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Fighting Irish apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.
McKinley took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-20, 25-21.
Leading St. Vincent-St. Mary to victory were Rylee Hoover and Kennedy Brophy. Hoover had 14 digs, two kills, and 27 assists, while Brophy had 23 digs. Hoover is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in the last 21 games she's played dating back to last season.
McKinley's loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for St. Vincent-St. Mary, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season.
