Baseball Game Preview: Economedes Jaguars vs. Edinburg North Cougars

Economedes is on a seven-game streak of home losses, and Edinburg North a 13-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Economedes Jaguars duke it out with Edinburg North Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Economedes has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Economedes came into this matchup off a tough 15-run loss on Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Valley View by a score of 11-9 on Wednesday.

Santiago Garza stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those stolen bases were his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of John Carreon, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Even though they lost, Economedes kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted in their last 12 matches.

Meanwhile, Edinburg North fell victim to Hanna and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Golden Eagles, falling 7-0.
