Softball Recap: Milton Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Milton walked away with it. They came out on top against the Gulf Breeze Dolphins by a score of 7-2 on Monday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 6-5 victory back in March.

Chloe Norman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Alexis Hawthorne was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs. Savannah Gardner was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Milton pushed their record up to 14-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Gulf Breeze, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season.

Milton will take on Niceville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. Gulf Breeze does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
