Volleyball Recap: Monticello Comes Up Short

Monticello was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Rantoul Eagles. The Sages were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Monticello's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Rantoul, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-11.

Coming up, Monticello will head out on the road to take on Prairie Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rantoul, they will face off against Lexington at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
