Soccer Recap: Arkansas City Takes a Loss

If Arkansas City was feeling good fresh off their 6-0 takedown of Salina Central last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs lost 7-0 to the Andover Central Jaguars on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Arkansas City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas soccer rankings (they are ranked 64th, while Andover Central are ranked 12th).

Arkansas City dropped their record down to 4-6-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Andover Central, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arkansas City will face off against Eisenhower at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Eisenhower will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Arkansas City surely won't give up without a fight. As for Andover Central, they will square off against Goddard at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Andover Central will be up against Goddard's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.8 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
