Football Recap: Argonaut Falls Despite Big Games from Will May and Jordan Caspary + How To Watch

Argonaut managed to keep up with Amador until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Mustangs lost 47-21 to the Buffaloes. The Mustangs have struggled against the Buffaloes recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Argonaut's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jordan Caspary, who threw for 212 yards and three TDs on only 14 passes, and Will May, who picked up 128 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Caspary's passing game has become a key predictor of the Mustangs' success: the team is 3-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-5 otherwise.

Brad Blankenheim was his usual excellent self, rushing for 163 yards and three scores on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 86 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes for Amador. Blankenheim's longest rush was for an impressive 57 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another player making a difference was John McPartland, who picked up 120 receiving yards and three TDs.

Argonaut's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Amador, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-4.

Argonaut has already played their next game, a 44-6 victory against Ceres on the 7th. As for Amador, they won't get a chance for a more definitive result for a while: they'll take on Ripon Christian at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. The Buffaloes' defense better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 34 points per game this season.
