Football Recap: Argonaut Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Argonaut managed to keep up with Amador until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Mustangs came up short against the Buffaloes, falling 47-21. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 41-0 to the Buffaloes when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

It was another big night for Brad Blankenheim, who rushed for 163 yards and three TDs on only 11 carries, and also threw for 86 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes for Amador. That's the most rushing touchdowns Blankenheim has posted since back in September. Evan Santos also helped out as he racked up 120 rushing yards.

This is the second loss in a row for Argonaut and nudges their season record down to 4-6. As for Amador, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-4.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Argonaut will welcome Ceres at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Amador, after each having a week off, they and Ripon Christian will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. The Buffaloes' defense better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 34 points per game this season.
