Baseball Recap: Clovis' Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Clovis dropped their record down to 14-15 on Friday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Central East Bengals by a score of 6-5. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bengals earlier this season, when they won 12-8.

Clovis got a good showing from Logan Georges, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Furthermore, Georges didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April.

At the plate, Peyton Barsotti made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

As for Central East, the win snapped their losing streak at nine games and leaves them with a 8-19 record. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since April 15th.

On Central East's side, Adan Flores spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned runs on seven hits. Flores has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Eric Arredondo was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Ortiz, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Clovis nor Central East have any future games scheduled.
