Marian Catholic entered their tilt with Bloom on Friday with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. They enjoyed a cozy 45-29 win over the Bloom Blazing Trojan. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Blazing Trojan are ranked 87th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bloom lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Chloe Casey, who posted six points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Tyler, who put up six points.

Marian Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Bloom, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-7.

Marian Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 51-50 defeat against Homewood-Flossmoor on the 28th. Bloom has also already played their next contest, a 71-65 win against Bolingbrook on the 28th.
