Volleyball Game Preview: Merced Bears vs. El Capitan Gauchos + How To Watch

Merced hasn't had much luck against El Capitan recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bears will square off against the Gauchos at 6:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, Merced came up short against Buhach Colony and fell 3-1. While the Bears didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Thunder 25-16 in the first set.

Merced started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 25-21, 25-22, 25-19.

Meanwhile, El Capitan waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 3-0 win.

El Capitan's victory bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Merced, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-14.

Merced couldn't quite get it done against El Capitan in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
