Football Recap: Bruce Trojans vs. Vardaman Rams
Bruce lost against Vardaman back in September of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bruce Trojans were dealt a 40-8 defeat at the hands of the Vardaman Rams. The Trojans have struggled against the Rams recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Bruce wouldn't let Vardaman keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. Bruce can thank Marcus Brownlee and Lenny Mcgreger for forcing all of them.
Bryson Moore had an outrageously good game for Vardaman as he rushed for 108 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also picked up 48 receiving yards and a touchdown. The dominant performance gave Moore a new career-high in rushing yards. Bentley Hamilton was another key rusher, rushing for 90 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
Bruce's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Vardaman, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Bruce will head out to face off against East Union at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Bruce focused on turnovers this week as team gave up four on Friday. As for Vardaman, they will host French Camp Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
