Basketball Recap: Sun Valley Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Sun Valley extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-3. They were dealt a 60-24 loss at the hands of the East Mecklenburg Eagles. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-10.

Despite the loss, Sun Valley still got an impressive performance from Kayleigh White, who posted eight points. Addison Hawkins also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.

As for East Mecklenburg, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 33 points or more this season.

East Mecklenburg had a senior duo take command as Jurnee Darling shot 57% from the field to rack up 19 points and four steals and Mackenna Weisner went 5-for-10 en route to 13 points and three steals. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for Darling. Another player making a difference was Destynni Davis, who scored six points.

Sun Valley has already played their next contest, a 61-29 defeat against Parkwood on the 5th. As for East Mecklenburg, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 75-10 loss against North Mecklenburg on the 5th.
