Basketball Recap: Liberty's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Liberty had won six straight games and Shania Brown did her part to make it seven on Saturday. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 64-30 stomp they got against the Patrick County Cougars thanks in part to Brown, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 22 boards. Her afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Cierra St. John was another key player, putting up 12 points along with six boards and four steals. That's the most boards she has posted since back in December of 2023.

Liberty's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Patrick County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Liberty will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Jefferson Forest at 7:00 p.m. on January 7th. Liberty knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Jefferson Forest likes a good challenge. As for Patrick County, they will take on North Stokes at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
