Football Game Preview: Canyon View Falcons vs. Cedar Reds

Two dominant signal callers in Ryder Miller and Everett Kelling are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Canyon View Falcons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cedar Reds at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Canyon View is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Juab on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Falcons were dealt a 39-10 defeat at the hands of the Wasps. The contest marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Cedar put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 49-41 victory over Richfield.

Cedar's win came from a few key players Canyon View will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Braxton Demille, who rushed for 141 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Slade Parsons, who picked up 170 receiving yards.

Cedar was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 307 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 208 rushing yards in four consecutive games.

Canyon View's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Cedar, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Canyon View has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 198.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Cedar struggles in that department as they've been averaging 238.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
