Football Game Preview: McEachern Indians vs. South Cobb Eagles + How To Watch

McEachern is a perfect 3-0 against South Cobb since August of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Indians will host the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (McEachern has eight straight wins, South Cobb has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

McEachern is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Georgia's top teams: Hillgrove, who was ranked 24th at the time (McEachern was ranked eighth). The Indians were the clear victors by a 35-14 margin over the Hawks on Friday. Considering the Indians have won seven contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

McEachern had a senior duo take command as Calvin Pittman Jr rushed for 103 yards and one TD on only eight carries and Henry Pullen rushed for 113 yards and a pair of scores. Pullen has been hot, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last seven times he's played.

Meanwhile, South Cobb fought the good fight in their overtime game against Pebblebrook on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 22-20.

McEachern will need to focus on slowing down Freedom Jones, one of several South Cobb players who made an impact when they last played. He threw for 183 yards and one touchdown on only 14 passes, and also rushed for 40 yards and one TD. South Cobb's leading receiver Ty'Lil Terrell was Jones' top target yet again, picking up 163 receiving yards and one score.

McEachern's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for South Cobb, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Everything came up roses for McEachern against South Cobb in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 58-0 win. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
