Basketball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Zephyrhills' Eighth in Last Nine Outings

After losing to Fivay the last time they met, Zephyrhills decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Zephyrhills Bulldogs came out on top against the Fivay Falcons by a score of 38-31 on Wednesday.

Despite the loss, Fivay still got an impressive performance from Naimah Mota, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Mota a new career-high in blocks (three).

Zephyrhills is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.2 points per game. As for Fivay, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10.

Zephyrhills has already played their next matchup, a 56-41 victory against Cypress Creek on the 16th. As for Fivay, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Mitchell at 7:30 p.m.
