Baseball Recap: Gonzaga Prep Wins High-Profile Game Against Mt. Spokane

Gonzaga Prep faced Mt. Spokane in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Bullpups came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 5-2. The game was the first time the Bullpups have beaten the Wildcats on their field since April 23, 2021.

Connor Wood spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Grant Yost, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

Gonzaga Prep's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Mt.
