Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Isaiah Emerich and Daniel Gutierrez Lead Peoria to Victory

Peoria had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged out the Estrella Foothills Wolves 3-2 on Monday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 3-2 win two weeks ago.

Peoria had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 20-25, 12-25, 30-28, 25-20, 19-17.

Peoria was led to victory by Daniel Gutierrez and Isaiah Emerich. Gutierrez had 33 assists and 12 digs, while Emerich had ten kills, eight digs, and three aces. Gutierrez is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 12 or more in each of the last seven games he's played.

Despite the loss, Estrella Foothills still got an impressive performance from Cruz Alvarado, who had 16 digs and three aces.
