Preview: Pinson Valley Indians vs. Center Point Eagles
Pinson Valley is 10-0 against the Eagles since November of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Pinson Valley Indians will look to defend their home court against the Center Point Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Both teams are out to turn their luck around after having lost tight contests in their previous games.
Last Tuesday, Pinson Valley faced the Cougars in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Pinson Valley fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 60-58. It was the first time this season that Pinson Valley let down their fans at home.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Camron Frost, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Clyde Walters, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 assists.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Center Point, who are still winless after their 25th matchup. They fell just short of Jackson-Olin by a score of 51-48.
Pinson Valley's defeat ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-10. As for Center Point, they dropped their record down to 0-25 with that defeat, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.
Pinson Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over the Eagles in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 49-38. Will Pinson Valley repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
