Baseball Recap: Silver Bluff Takes a Loss

If Silver Bluff was riding high fresh off their 17-0 takedown of Keenan last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Silver Bluff fell just short of the Swansea Tigers by a score of 6-5 on Tuesday. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their loss to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in February of 2020.

AJ Fontanez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Tanner Sullivan, who scored two runs and stole two bases.

Silver Bluff's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Swansea, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Silver Bluff will welcome Westside at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Silver Bluff's pitchers better be ready for this one: Westside has averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Swansea, they will face off against Silver Bluff at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
