Mountain Vista faced Chaparral in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles came out on top against the Wolverines by a score of 7-3. Winning may never get old, but the Golden Eagles sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row.

Sawyer Tipton tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alex King, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Ryan Callister also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Mountain Vista pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Chaparral, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season.
