Recap: Miller County Pirates vs. North Florida Christian Eagles
The Miller County Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 60-35 defeat at the hands of North Florida Christian. Miller County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-10.
Despite the loss, Miller County still got an impressive performance from Jayden McCray, who scored 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Keown, who scored eight points.
North Florida Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jace Riggan out in front who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. Parker Freeland was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Miller County now has a losing record at 4-5. As for North Florida Christian, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Miller County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Brooks County at 2:30 p.m. on December 28, 2023. Hopefully Brooks County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday. North Florida Christian will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Thomas County Central at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
