Baseball Recap: Mount Pleasant Find Success

Mount Pleasant proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by ten) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wilmington Friends Quakers, sneaking past 6-5. The Green Knights haven't had any issues with the Quakers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Chase Wilson and Cam Wright did most of the damage at the plate: Wilson went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Wright went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. Wright is becoming a predictor of Mount Pleasant's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-10 when he doesn't). Kenyon Holman was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Mount Pleasant's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Wilmington Friends, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Pleasant will square off against Newark at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wilmington Friends, they will face off against Brandywine at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
