Softball Recap: Laguna Acoma Comes Up Short

After flying high against Thoreau last Saturday, Laguna Acoma came back down to earth. The Hawks fell just short of the Navajo Prep Eagles by a score of 22-21 on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Hawks in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Jazmyne Carrillo stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. Another player making a difference was Tavani Scott, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5.

Laguna Acoma's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Navajo Prep, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Laguna Acoma beat the Eagles by a score of 3-0 later that day.
