Soccer Game Preview: Heritage vs. Rustburg

The Heritage Pioneers will venture away from home to square off against the Rustburg Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Heritage's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Heritage fell victim to Amherst County and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Lancers, falling 7-0.

Meanwhile, Rustburg also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 7-0 to Liberty Christian on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that Rustburg have lost by exactly seven goals.

This is the second loss in a row for Rustburg and nudges their season record down to 4-7-1. As for Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.

Heritage couldn't quite get it done against Rustburg in their previous meeting back in April as they fell 3-1. Can the Pioneers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
