Recap: Houston Adventist Academy vs. Calvary Baptist Eagles
Houston Adventist Academy suffered their closest loss yet this season on Thursday. They fell just short of Calvary Baptist by a score of 60-58. Houston Adventist Academy has struggled against Calvary Baptist recently, as their match on Thursday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Several Houston Adventist Academy players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ottis Crudup III, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. Crudup III is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Nate Morrison was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with three steals.
Even though they lost, Houston Adventist Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Calvary Baptist only pulled down ten offensive rebounds.
Calvary Baptist found their leader in underclassman Max Guisler, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Another player making a difference was Sam Guisler, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Houston Adventist Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Calvary Baptist, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-13.
Houston Adventist Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Covenant Academy at 7:30 p.m. Covenant Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Calvary Baptist, they will head out on the road to take on Lifestyle Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lifestyle Christian is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
