Football Recap: Garden Grove Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Garden Grove played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Esperanza Aztecs, falling 58-33. If the Argonauts were looking for revenge after losing 42-6 to the Aztecs when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Garden Grove still got an impressive performance from Quentin Pacelli, who rushed for 305 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 8.7 yards per carry, and also picked up 70 receiving yards and one touchdown. Pacelli's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his ninth straight game with at least 167 rushing yards dating back to last season. Calvin Keovphan was another key player, throwing for 190 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 15 passes.

Esperanza had a senior duo take command as Brody Snyder gained 201 total yards and four touchdowns and Travis Frazier threw for 450 yards and two TDs while completing 76.9% of his passes. Those 450 passing yards set a new season-high mark for Frazier. Joseph Fields was another major influence, as he rushed for 48 yards and ran in a TD.

Garden Grove's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Esperanza, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-3.
