Soccer Game Preview: Mardela vs. Liberty + How To Watch

The Mardela Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the Liberty Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mardela's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Mardela is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Snow Hill 2-1. That's two games straight that Mardela have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Liberty). Their defense stepped up to hand National Academy Foundation a 9-0 shutout on Tuesday. Give Liberty's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Liberty has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 36 goals over those seven matchups. As for Mardela, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.

Mardela might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Liberty when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
