Softball Recap: Walker Valley Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

While Walker Valley put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Cleveland. The Walker Valley Mustangs blew past the Cleveland Blue Raiders 8-0. Considering the Mustangs have won six matches by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The result came thanks to Olivia Presswood's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Walker Valley got a big performance out of Brylie Davis, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI Davis has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Davenport, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Walker Valley hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in 15 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Walker Valley is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. Cleveland's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-5.

Coincidentally, Walker Valley and Cleveland will both be playing Chattanooga Christian the next time they take the field. Walker Valley will head out to face Chattanooga Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Cleveland will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
