Basketball Recap: Sebastien Rodriguez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mater Brickell Academy over Archbishop Carroll

On Monday, the Mater Brickell Academy Bulls ended up a good deal behind the Archbishop Carroll Bulldogs and lost 59-41. The Bulls have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mater Brickell Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sebastien Rodriguez, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Antonio Medina, who had six points along with nine rebounds and four steals.

Archbishop Carroll can attribute much of their success to Angel Marquez, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. Marquez is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Daniel Pazo, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds.

Mater Brickell Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Archbishop Carroll, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.

Mater Brickell Academy has already played their next match, a 78-56 defeat against Ferguson on the 7th. As for Archbishop Carroll, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 77-21 win against Cristo Rey on the 13th.
