Volleyball Recap: Ariana Magallanes Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Cuba

Hagerman saw some tournament action on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Cuba Rams.

Hagerman's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ariana Magallanes led the charge by getting 16 digs and 14 kills. That's the most digs Magallanes has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Riley Martinez, who had 11 kills, nine digs, four aces, and one block.

Hagerman was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in five consecutive games dating back to last season.

Hagerman now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Cuba, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Hagerman didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Dexter on the 2nd. As for Cuba, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Taos on the 26th.
