Basketball Game Preview: Pungo Christian Academy Raiders vs. Columbia Wildcats

The Pungo Christian Academy Raiders and the Columbia Wildcats will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Pungo Christian Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Columbia will be coming in after a defeat.

Pungo Christian Academy will bounce into Saturday's match after beating Faith Christian, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Pungo Christian Academy managed a 52-48 win over Faith Christian on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Raiders as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Columbia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 58-38 to Lawrence Academy. The Wildcats were down 42-21 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Columbia's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Pungo Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.

Everything went Pungo Christian Academy's way against Columbia in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, as Pungo Christian Academy made off with a 65-40 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pungo Christian Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
