Baseball Recap: South Johnston Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

There's no place like home for South Johnston, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the West Johnston Wildcats on Thursday, sneaking past 4-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-3 back in April.

South Johnston pushed their record up to 16-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for West Johnston, their loss ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-7.

As of now, neither South Johnston nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
