Basketball Recap: Williams Comes Up Short

Williams has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 46-39 to the Lexington Yellowjackets on Saturday.

When it comes to explaining why Williams lost, don't look at Mi'Keina Springfield. Despite the final result, she went 6 of 13 en route to 15 points along with six boards and six steals. The dominant performance gave Springfield a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ry'Leigh Surles, who posted six points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lexington to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lily Ervin, who put up ten points. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Dearmon, who had ten points.

Williams' loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Lexington, their record is now 9-1.

Williams will host Orange at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Williams is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.2 points per game this season. As for Lexington, they will head out on the road to challenge West Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
