JAMES JOHNSON leads Douglas County to victory over Lee County

Recap: Douglas County Tigers vs. Lee County Trojans

The Douglas County Tigers had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They strolled past Lee County with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 59-45. Douglas County's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

It was another big night for JAMES JOHNSON, who rushed for 100 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries, and also picked up 55 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Rah'keith Kelly, who rushed for 133 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Douglas County's defensive line and their four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Jordan ?breeze? carter and Marquacious Wright who racked up four sacks between them.

Lee County's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ousmane Kromah, who rushed for 155 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Kromah has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last three times he's played. Weston Bryan was another key contributor, rushing for 69 yards and two touchdowns.

Douglas County pushed their record up to 13-0 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.3 points per game. As for Lee County, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.

Douglas County will square off against Woodward Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Woodward Academy: 10.5, Douglas County: 15.8) so any points scored will be well earned. Lee County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
