Basketball Recap: Owen Valley Find Success

Owen Valley came into Tuesday's game having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 36-35 win over the White River Valley Wolverines. This was payback for the Patriots, who suffered a 28-26 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Owen Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joey Richardson, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Hall, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.

Owen Valley's victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-11. As for White River Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Owen Valley will host Northview at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Northview knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Owen Valley likes a good challenge. As for White River Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Shakamak at 7:30 p.m. Shakamak will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something White River Valley surely won't give up without a fight.
