Mt. Carmel had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They breezed past the Fairfield Mules to the tune of 53-19 on Monday. The Golden Aces have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 18 contests by 23 points or more this season.

Leading Mt. Carmel to victory were Riley Hershey and Maycee Randall. Hershey went 8-for-11 to rack up 19 points and four steals, while Randall posted ten points and eight boards. Thanks to that strong game, Hershey now owns an excellent 45.1% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Evie Sellers, who had eight points.

Mt. Carmel smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Mt. Carmel is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-4 record this season. Fairfield now has a losing record of 14-15.

Looking ahead, Mt. Carmel will face off against Carmi-White County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Carmi-White County will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Mt. Carmel surely won't give up without a fight. Fairfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
