The University Prep Jaguars will head out on the road to face off against the Apple Valley Sun Devils at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. University Prep is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
On Monday, University Prep made easy work of Adelanto and carried off a 19-9 victory. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Brie (Brieana) Villanueva made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. Villanueva was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Paityn Zimmerman and Saidy Gonzalez did most of the damage at the plate: Zimmerman went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI, while Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with three runs and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Juliette Torres, who went 3-for-5 with three runs and one RBI.
University Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in seven consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 16 runs the game before, Apple Valley was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They fell 4-1 to Sultana. The Sun Devils' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Apple Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Samantha Dollar, who went 2-for-4 with one run.
University Prep pushed their record up to 18-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Apple Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-8-1.
Apple Valley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: University Prep has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.6 hits per game. It's a different story for Apple Valley, though, as they've been averaging 8.9 hits. Given University Prep's sizable advantage in that area, the Sun Devils will need to find a way to close that gap.
University Prep couldn't quite get it done against Apple Valley when the teams last played back in March of 2024 as they fell 12-7. Can the Jaguars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
