Softball Recap: Logan Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Bear River

On Tuesday, Logan faced Bear River in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Logan Grizzlies lost 11-1 to the Bear River Bears. The Grizzlies were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bears from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Logan saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miley Allen, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. That RBI was Allen's first of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Logan and nudges their season record down to 3-3. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 5-0 Riverton (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 100% over those games). As for Bear River, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

When Logan and Bear River next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Logan will face off against Box Elder and their six-game winning streak at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Bear River will try to stop Riverton's six-game winning streak when they meet at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
