Softball Recap: Chicopee Comp Comes Up Short

Chicopee Comp was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mount Everett Regional Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Colts of the 10-7 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Arianna Bird and Ari Chagnon did some serious damage despite the final result: Bird scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances, while Chagnon scored a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Alexis Wojcik, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Chicopee Comp's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chicopee Comp will venture away from home to challenge Drury at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Mount Everett Regional, they will square off against Chicopee at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
