Basketball Recap: Monticello Comes Up Short

Monticello was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 57-49 to the PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central Bluejays. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Sages of the 49-36 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.

Monticello's loss dropped their record down to 12-12. As for PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monticello will square off against Pontiac at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central, they will challenge Williamsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
